Nothing is intrinsically bad, its takes a relation to something else to make it bad. Lust is only bad if it leads to immediately bad consequences, like unplanned pregnancies neither parent is ready for, or extra-marietal affairs which damage your relationship with the person with whom you established a life long companionship. In a situation where lust serves as the building bridge to a durable relationship, however, nothing bad can be said of it -- all immediate consequences of lust were good, therefore lust becomes good by association.
Overall, lust is a good thing because it motivates us to perpetuate our species even during rough times, enabling the development of our civilization.
