No, selfishness is not a key part of the philosophy. The main point is that the ability to support yourself is more important than charity. It does reject the notion of altruism, but you either understand that or do not. But th key point is, if you cannot support yourself you have no business squandering your resources on charity and then whining because you have nothing left over. |
