| I think you can prey without needing anything back, just as you can talk to your grandad without asking for anything, or you can talk to someone in a coma without even needing a response (you just want to be heard).
I think some people have secrets in their hearts that they dont want to tell anyone, so they lift their burden by telling god (and as far as they are concerned, being heard by god), even if god only exists in their heads
