Quote by: xyzer Pooey! Answer the question with specifics! The BBC article shows the same natural influence(La nina) that has been pointed out to you? |
If you claim to have pointed out then you'd know why the temperatures haven't been rising as steadily. So why the question?

Quote by: xyzer Remember we posted satellite temperature data lower than the 90s.The PDO article? |
Do you remember citing this
link. It has the very latest data and it shows that although this year may not be hotter than last year (due to La Nina effect) but it is still above the 20 year average. Does that answer your question?

Quote by: xyzer What I maintain, and have for a year or so is that there are natural influences that can and do overcome the Gore assumptions(and yours) that anthropogenic CO2 tipped the climate into a warming cycle. |
Fine, then please present the evidence of these natural influences causing the warming in the last 2 to 3 decades.

Quote by: xyzer Foxfyres article shows that here have been cycles of warming and cooling that coincides with ocean current changes. This in spite of the CO2 influence. ergo, which casts doubt on your, Prince Charles' and Gore's insistance that CO2 is the main culprit. |
Ocean currents are affected by many factors, in addition, the huge heat capacity of water means it's slow to respond to change. Anyway, it is well known that ocean currents affect cooling and warming so greatly that it can temporarily overcome any warming, as we've discussed already with La Nina. Do you actually pay attention to what has actually been said and cited by me?

Quote by: xyzer I notice the believers who participated in the BBC article were still touting the recurrence of warming just as soon as the ocean current changed? |
Well, can't say much for the reporter but spokesperson is the WMO's secretary-general. Why would the warming disappear completely because ocean current has changed? It may counteract the cooling but we won't know to what degree till the end of this year when we've got most of the data.

Quote by: xyzer So much for the alarmism and outright fraud in the press and elsewher? It defies rational interpretation. |
Please justify your accusations with evidence. You said there is outright fraud, prove it or recant.

Quote by: xyzer He also predicts this years average will be way above the averag? I don't know what average he is conjuring up but after the generally much colder winter months its going to have to get much warmner for us to conclusively predict it will be a warmer year? Can you and this charlatan produce any scientific study or background info on this point? |
I have a statement from the
Met Office;
Quote:
|
Global temperature for 2008 is expected to be 0.37 °C above the long-term (1961-1990) average of 14.0 °C, the coolest year since 2000, when the value was 0.24 °C.
|
Take it up with the Met Office of the UK if you have a problem.

Which of your multitude of questions? You flip flop so much I am beginning to lose track!
As we can see above, all you've got are anecdotes.
