In Islamic Law Men are not allowed to have girl friends, however for those who need- for some reason - to get another woman they are allowed to mary up to four. The only restriction is that they should do justice between them. For example if the husband gives a penny to one of them; every other wife should get also a penny.
Prophet Muhammad as a messenger have the right to marry more than four wives but with the permission of God. He married 9; only one of them was virgin.( The others were maried before.)
