And I love how both democrats and republicans act elitist, their reasons for their elitism both being utterly non-based in reality. Both parties basically follow what their social groups tell them to think, the only people who actually think of the repercussions of their actions typically vote independant, or give in and vote for what they think is the lesser evil, because they know that in all likelihood doing the intelligent thing is never going to matter in a presidential race. |
I'm not sure I buy into you premise completely. I have voted inde a few times in my life but, since we're human, all candidates are to a certain extent part of the "lesser of two evil" dynamic. In fact any candidate that seems too good often doesn't pass the sniff test eventually. When I do vote the lesser it's only because we don't have run off voting. If we had that I'd alaways vote for the best candidate first. I have never let parties tell me how to vote, but the stranglehold they have on the process because of the way it's set up often give me few options. In such situations decisions have to be made.
