2000 years ago the Israel was conquered by Rome and Jewish were oust of Israel, yet small number of Jewish remained at the land all the time
After that Israel was captured many times by many forces including Arabs
The last force that captured the Israel was Britain, it gave large portion of Israeli lands to Arabs - it is the so called Jordain
The successors of the Arabs that occupied Israel, Arabs that came later and more recent refugees from the Arabian countries are today occupational force of Israel
