I'd have to find out what he said, there. I like that he promised to speak to anyone, and that he's upholding that promise, but if he gave the standard political pandering, he needs to rethink his priorities. I'm sure there's plenty of good things that a good public servant could say to that group, on that occasion, but most such comments wouldn't fit the definition of "politics".
Of course, I know nothing of the guy other than this thread. Perhaps he's pure evil.
Back to the OP: guilt by association just doesn't fly with me. The previously stated "You are the company you keep" is a load of bs. I'm aware some people think these are valid grounds on which to judge a person's character, but I think most people know better.
By this standard, we can assume that Jesus was a whore, a taxman, a leper, and probably quite a few other unsavory characters.
