Trying to compare jumping jacks to my frog spirit is not a joke in good taste.
Unless you eat Jack (in the box) burgers also.
To embody an animal spirit is one of the oldest religious concepts in our known history of religions. They used to embody a lion to gain it's courage during a war, or the spirit of an eagle so they can become eagle-eyed hunters. The animal spirit was used to give people names, plant spirits were also used as a pretty girl might be named after the spirit of a flower. Jesus named someone after the spirit of a rock.
Finding you spirit name or being appointed one by a shaman elder has been an important part of finding our brotherhood with nature.
You should try it sometime.
Jesus told them about his spirit name at the last supper. He had a plant spirit instead of an animal spirit. The blood of the grape and the flesh of the wheat (out of which bread is made).
All of this is basic shamanism stuff and not just a joke as you intended to make it out to be with your Jumping Jacks anology.
A spirit name is the handed down DNA of our Mother Nature.
For the human being is partly a ghost and partly physical. A complexity of the seen and the unseen. We are partly the mystery of a miricle and partly biological fact. A mixture of creativity and evolution. A mixture of imagination and logical deductions. We are the strange brew.
The self and the Seer of selfhood.
We know this, any kid can relate to Kermit Frog on TV and the idea it can talk. Because kids have not yet been poluted by stupid ideas pawned off as "the facts". Become as a small child and be reborn - as a frog or something that fits your new personality.
If you allow yourself to be distracted by being an adult you will stop growing and begin to decay away into the pits of death. So get scared and "believe". Ha!
How about that?
