Quote by: delta one I don't think it, I know it. And of course you're surprised. From what you just said, you implied that this is bogus, even though it is not. Just look up astral projection on the Internet (Maybe you shouldn't, for your computer may become cursed). |
OK. There is absolutely no scientific proof for any of this. Zero.
This doesn't mean your wrong, this only means that you have no means of convincing me.
I've lived long enough to know that the supernatural (like bigfoot) are usually hoaxes. Prove me wrong.

They do this all the time in the Eastern Hemisphere.

aahahahaha. I live in Hong Kong. Most people here are so realistic and anti superstition it is actually funny.
I can tell you this: "By staring into the candle, Shirley blanked out her mind, directly opening a doorway for the entrance of demons. As she opened herself up to this demonic powe, the link was forged between her conscious mind and spirit, thus enabling her to begin experiencing and controlling her spirit body."
is so untrue of meditation. Clear the mind, focus on what is importent, and reach out for something greater.
By the way, the "reach out" part can be used to find God. It is no different then most prayer.

Quote by: anmon (but applicable to Delta) The godless hate Christianity, and dismiss it as fables and fairy tales and old fashioned, out of place, but go totally ape for anything dark and demonic, werewolves, vampires, demons and witches especially, funny that.

Sigh, one of my best story ideas is about ghosts, vamps, werewolves, etc.
So I guess you guys are after my head next.
First off, speaking on behalf of all such writers, we have this nice little label on the side of the book that says "fiction".
We don't present the truth or even pretend to. Our job is not to tell the truth, but to keep you entertained for as long as we have your attention.
Harry Potter is more about character development and good vs evil and braving death, so on and so forth. You guys only care about the unreal part.
Second, you don't trust children enough to tell truth from fact. I knew that Harry Potter never existed. I knew that you could never do magic. Most other kids will agree.
Third, kind of power makes no difference, use of power is the only part that matters. It's like saying TV is bad. TV is only as good as the shows it puts on. The TV is a tool, how it is wielded is the difference.

Quote by: will_00 Does it justify anything if I state your own belief of atheism to be of unsupported mythology, does it effect anything? |
I can already tell what will be posted next.
"Atheism isn't unsupported mythology as it believes only in proof and lack of mythology".
He's just saying that you can't prove empirically vampires exist. I agree with him.
It's your job to provide evidence that they exist, and not us.

If you are referencing Christianity, it is not a religion.

Don't bother nit picking here. We already have a thread for it.
Just, for the sake of discussion, pretend religion includes Christianity. So we can keep the debate going.

Quote by: delta Exactly. They always do that. Some Christians even do this. Even when they know it is demonic, therefore being sinful, they just go ahead and do it, because they enjoy it, just like reading the Twilight Series. |
Even if it were about evil things "know thy enemy."
How can you be against it if you haven't read it?

Quote by: anmon Yeah they get a kick out of it because they know its evil. |
No, its because Vamps are sexy!
