They are not obsolete, but unnecessary. The "commands" that are unnecessary are commonly more of sacrifices, and such. Those that stand to be relative today, are that of absolute Truths, e.g. When an explanation occurs, and leads into a commandment - E.g. Homosexuality is a sin.
