Interesting that you should pick those two precise aspects.

a.) Google "mitochondrial Eve". I've made this point before and I used an evolutionary biology site to prove it. Mitochondrial evidence projects that it is highly likely that all of humanity descended from a single female progenitress. Or is mitochondria now considered a fairy tale as well? I tell you, I can't keep up.

Ahahahahahah aahahahaha ahaha. sounds like YOU should have kept up Oh i love it when they bring this up.

let me simplifiy what this study is saying:

All the desendants of this "eve" were females THATS ALL.
not that she was the only one, not that she was with one man, and not that there is a god.

What distinguishes Mitochondrial Eve (and her matrilineal ancestors) from all her female contemporaries is that she has a purely matrilineal line of descent to all humans alive today, whereas all her contemporaries have at least one male in every line of descent.

Mitochondrial Eve

A study of a representative sample of humans from the worldwide population using whole genome analysis and excluding the D-loop yields an age for matrilineal MRCA (Mitochondrial Eve) of 150,000 to 200,000 years

Mitochondrial Eve - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The existence of Mitochondrial Eve and Y-chromosomal Adam does not imply the existence of population bottlenecks or a first couple

Allan Wilson's naming Mitochondrial Eve[4] after Eve of the Genesis creation story has led to some misunderstandings among the general public. A common misconception is that Mitochondrial Eve was the only living human female of her time — she was not. Had she been the only living female of her time, humanity would most likely have become extinct due to an extreme population bottleneck.

Clear enough for ya? yes, youre "the general public" now kindly remove this as one of the justification for believing in christianity. I really like how when science appears to support something from the bible, all the christian are behind it, like we see phoenix doing here, when science disproves something in the bible, christians change what the bible means "oh god didnt mean he created the world in 6 days, he meant 6 ages" Now watch phoenix totally dismiss the information here and go on believing in her fairy tale.

b.) There are actually accounts of the flood in other historical sources. .
Yes, flood, but in EVERY representation of the flood, EVER. it is well understood that the planet itself was all water. This is simply christians changing what their book is saying in order to account for the devastating effects science is having on christianity as a whole.

Christianity is looking like swiss cheese as more and more scientific advances poke holes into christianity.'

p.s. i private messaged phoenix the link to this post and shes like "i think not!" i assured her that thinking had nothing to do with what she said
