Not dominated but certainly more influenced, see the Etruscans for a good example of this, close to Rome and eventually dominated by them, the Romans themselves said they were too womanly.
Sounds like locker-room banter. It doesn't mean the Etruscans were actually girly.

Also, remember, the Spartans were the ones with the "Agoge" system of education which was both manly and less then manly.

Most cultures were male dominated then, as now, the Romans were just more so.
How so?

Would you consider every woman like Margaret Thatcher but?
She thought more like a man, thats why she could make quick logical decisions, based on reason, not emotion.
A lot of women have this ability, its called using their masculine side.
Maybe, but it could also be called using their logical, reasonable, emotionless side. The reason I drop the masculine part is because it wasn't a man using these traits, only farther proving that they aren't male exclusive.

The right was there so no one argued with the head of the house which was the father.
I doubt it needed to be carried out much, and it would have been used in an extreme circumstance only. The Romans were a very practical people, so it would have been for a good reason, our soft western society cant relate to this of course, but it was a much harder world for civilisation to be in then
No, our soft western society has trouble with infantcide. But on that topic, why should it be allowed? Again, that isn't macho-ism, its just the concept of the state over the individual.

Just being honest. Your posts were incredibly insulting. Not once in my life have I ever heard such blatant sexism.
Ah, were you here for ninesteps? Because I think he won that category. And don't let him bait you (wouldn't it be ironic if "him" was a "her"?)

And we are off topic. I'm going to make another thread if there isn't one already...

Don't forget this is all in good fun!
