Animals don't have a conscious. Or at least we don't know if they do.
Humans are different which is why humans can seem to break with what would be considered normal human behavior. And if your going to claim the biological response then as you say: Prove it! Provide detailed data on a study that highlights direct differences in the brain or body chemistry of murderers or other abnormal human behavior. How about data regarding parents who harm their kids willingly.
