I have a short attention span and couldn't get myself to read through all the comments. First off, God's Word is perfect and does not contradict itself. Actions are the physical evidence of one's faith or lack there of. There is no such thing as an atheist. Please consider the following: Your walking through the woods and come to a tree with a painted picture hanging on one of the trees. There are no footprints and no signiture to give you a clue as to who painted it. Now, in all your reasoning and logic, did a person paint the picture? How do you know? B/c it exist, correct? Same with creation. No such thing as an atheist only confused agnostics. The God of the Bible created everything. We sinned. When is the last time you lied to someone? The last time you had a sexual thought about someone you're not married to? (That's adultery, Matt. 5) Have you ever stolen anything no matter what the cost value? Have you ever hated someone? (Murder, Matt. 5) So, God will judge you when you die (no make ups immediately after you die!). He wouldn't even have to look at your "actions" to condemn you to Hell, only your perverted thought life. God is perfect. PERFECT, holy, righteous. We cannot even comprehend the actual meaning of these words. He cannot allow sin in His presence. If you were to die right now God would see you as a lying, thieving, adulterous murderer based off of what I just went through. IF God judged you this way (as He says He will) would that concern you even the least bit? Let's consider the idea that you know 10% of everything in the universe. Is it possible that in the other 90% of things you haven't come across yet that the God of the Bible actually does exist? I know He does and the fact that you have an interest in spiritual things could mean that He's trying to reach out to you before it's too late. 150,000 people die every day. Your not guranteed five more minutes and you want to squander your eternity because of foolish pride? The bottom line is: You don't CHOOSE God, He already chose you you're just in rebellion like I was. I dare you to pray to the God of the Bible sincerely (if that's possible) and ask Him to show Himself to you. We all deserve Hell. Our "acts" of "righteousness" are nothing but filthy rags to Him. Perfect Jesus (the unblemished lamb) was sacrificed BY God the Father on the cross (alter) for the sins of all those who are willing to REPENT (turn away from sin in your life) and TRUST in Jesus as the one and only Savior of your soul. Do that and you will understand what the song "Amazing Grace" is talking about. It's about being born-again (read John 3). Get on your knees and humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
