I'm sorry I give that impression. I know hardly squat about biology
That is certainly apparent.

and even my chemistry (though perhaps relatively advanced) is hardly anything to crow about.
I'll believe you. You express opinions about biology without knowledge, so why would we assume that you actually had any knowledge of chemistry.

I'm sure that the resident biologist is quite schooled in his field.
There is a resident biologist? I have observed that there are several who post here who are quite knowledgeable about biology. Which one has been awarded the title of "Resident Biologist"?

My contention, however, is that much of the 'knowlewdge' which he has learned by rote is faulty...it has caused him to reach false conclusions.
But evolutionary biology isn't a subject that lends itself well to rote learning. Take my case for example. When I first began to study biology we didn't understand the structure of DNA. We didn't know the code that indicated the amino acids that build the proteins. We didn't know about Hox genes or Pax genes.

Chemistry is rote learning, especially if one hasn't actually done any uper division study. Other sciences begin that way but quickly go beyond, to actual thinking.
