| John Kerry is the direct example of why the primary system in this country is completely and utterly broken. Prior to the Iowa Caucus, Kerry was barely a blip. The media was salivating at the prospect of a Bush vs. Dean race. Then all of the sudden Kerry inexplicably pulls through in Iowa and gains the resulting momentum from the media to take the nomination.
Hell, as I recall, he couldn't even be bothered to show up at the last debate before Iowa and was shown on a plasma screen.
I'd be very interested to see what really went on behind closed doors during the Democratic Primary for the 2004 race. Nothing about that primary period made a bit of logical sense.
What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? |
