Rebel, no we shouldnīt.

We should aim for the highest single differentiator.

So high & so single that many people will feel compelled to enjoy it.

I donīt share the issue with commercialization. Rubens was very highly commercialized. If there ainīt no public for it, there ainīt no value in it.

Subsidizing art may work well but only if it is designed to help the artist to get over the threshold of costs to find his public. Or, but that is a bit more tricky, if conditions are such that a substantial public doesnīt give him the means for subsistence.
