| seems to me that if you wern't drinking and you wern't at the party that the police would have held you up for a very short period of time anyway. If the truth be known you were most likely rubber-necking, all those cops and flashing lights right where you happened to be, shit, I would rubber-neck as well.
Anyway, show respect and courtesy to police and they will generally treat you the same.
