The saying about the bumblebee is an old tale that no one has ever put real credence to, similar to red sky at morning, sailors take warning, red sky at night, sailors delight.
Actually, some people have put real credence in the bumble bee story. But there never was an actual scientific study that showed that. On the other hand, there is real observational evidence that the sailors maxim has some validity.
[quote]Huckabee was merely making a reference to his campaign defying the so-called laws of politics by making a comeback when conventional election wisdom labeled his campaign dead.[quote]Well, good. Then let's hope that his campaign is just a matter of careless calculation, just like the bumble bee story. When bumble bees were actually studied according to the laws of aerodynamics, it was found that they always could fly.

Those unable to understand the difference between a literal interpretation of what he said and his application of a figure of speech are the real ignorant sluts.
But the analogy is screwed. It was a silly wives tale that a bumble bee couldn't fly and working harder by the bee didn't have anything to do with it. Huckabee, on the other hand, until he began playing the scientific ignorance and religion cards was losing.

By the way, Wikipedia says, "The method assumes small amplitude oscillations without flow separation. This ignores the effect of dynamic stall, an airflow separation inducing a large vortex above the wing, which briefly produces several times the lift of the aerofoil in regular flight. More sophisticated aerodynamic analysis shows that the bumblebee can fly because its wings encounter dynamic stall in every oscillation cycle."
