Quote by: Zeebadee The sun is about halfway through it's life span, so the solar system has had 5 billion years to evolve. Many other stars have long since burned out and gone dark. If life has developed on other planets, this leads to at least two conclusions:
1. Einstein is correct, there is no way to exceed the speed of light, so there's no practical way to get here from some far off system.
2. Life on all planets evolves from lower forms and, like we are liable to do, destroys itself before it gains the knowledge or capability of trans-lightspeed travel. |
If that determination is true - execpt for the data that concerns the Sun (itself), then there is no sense of any form of live to emerge ever, within the Universe we are part of.
With billions of years ahead of us, we (most likely) would reach the level of technology that prompts us to (re)search other parts of the Universe, and find a suitable place for Homo Sapiens.
