J. Askiloupos was kind enough to answer. If we want to understand the bible, then should we not have an understanding of the differences between Hebrew and Christian belief? I think it is obvious Christian concepts include Persian, Egyptian, and Greek concepts. Are we going to analize things or not? How many ancient people agreed there was an after life and that humans are judged and then go to hell or the good after life?
How about the Egyptian trinity of the soul? The body dies. The personality is judged by Isis and if she determines the person is good, the person passes into the good after life. The essence of the soul returns to the source.
