Triad, i will say that the history of the word nigger is very crucial to the "joke" about your dog being black. And, i dont know if you know, but racist slurs are used commonly in hick towns (the south) as names for pets. I think if you called your dog a nigger in front of someone who is sensitive to race then they have every right to take offense, as surely you find humor in their plight, which aggravates everyone.
