There should be a law passed by Congress immediately that makes being in this country illegally a felony offense punishable by mandatory deportation.

Since I'm the one who started this thread, I get to say what the thread is about and it damned well is about people who are in this country illegally (as well as about Governor Spitzer whining about the criticism he's receiving for proposing to give licenses to illegals).

I have made clear what I believe issuing driver's licenses to undocumented people in NY is all about in politics.

That's certainly a lot of it.

The reality of illegals being here, and what to do about them, is another matter. We could start with the simple recommendations I have made above.
