Greetings, all!

I've been browsing the fora here ever since my old one at ATT shut down. Seems to be a wide range of well-expressed opinions, and I look forward to contributing.

A little about me:

I'm a 37 year old male, native of Northern Ireland, currently making my home in New Zealand. I'm an historian by education, a luthier by trade, and an atheist by inclination. I'm a good cook, a passable fisherman, and a lousy typist (apos in advance). My hobbies include following the All Blacks and advoiding gardening. Some of my personal heroes are Charles Darwin, Ella Fitzgerald, Carl Sagan, Django Reinhardt and Dylan Moran. Politically, I'm left-of-centre. I'm somewhat of an Amerophile, the current crop of thugs notwithstanding.

Well, that should do to go on with. I look forward to explaining why everyone should agree with me about everything [joke].
