| There's a difference between "book smart" and experience. For example, you can know a lot from a college engineering course or the internet, but you get some experience in the lab where you can apply the knowledge. Some degrees are more lab-oriented than others, so I suppose those would offer more experiencial knowledge than the internet.
Consider, for example, a chemistry major where you gain access to elements you aren't allowed to buy as an individual.
Wouldn't it be cool if universities allowed people to take only lab courses as an extension to self-teaching off the internet? Best of both worlds? |
