you're joking, right???

social security and medicare are both entitlement programs, as all americans are entitled to receive services provided by those programs.

and, it seems that you're attempting to minimize the significance/importance of paying down our foreign-held debt. this is vital to our national interests, far more than the many of your poll's items.
Right after I read your post I attempted to change one of the poll options to include the budget issue for paying down the debt but apparently we cannot edit a poll once it is posted. Being that people have started to vote it is too late to do that now via a monitor.

It just goes to reason that if they create a debt they must pay it back, they somehow hope to do that if the population becomes larger in the next generation. That is what the bankers are banking on when they took the risk to loan the government money. I wish them the best of luck. If they raise the minimum wage then the amount that can be collected from income taxes would become greater, allowing for more in-put to pay down past debts. It would seem ill-logical that Congress and others involved in creating debts would not have a plan already established to pay off the debt, as most bills are apporved of if they and when the proposals show how they can be paid for (without raising taxes) and so they need to follow thourgh on that established plan, or go bankrupt like anyone else who miss-manages their credit card.

So I am not sure what your point is about past debts?

Medicare would be included under the choice of a better health care system.

And SS payments are deducted seperately from income taxes as far as I know. Although I could use a raise because my $622.00 SS check per month is not enough to cover the basic cost of living.
