Which is what makes these rich folks hypocrites! Congress keeps wanting to raise taxes (because, they claim, the federal government doesn't have enough money) and yet keeps passing all these ways for rich people to get out of paying the amount of tax they would owe if there were no deductions.

Well, that gets rid of the relatively few Democrats who give to charity and some Republicans as well. It still shows conservatives give more to charity than liberals (because liberals tend to expect the government to do the work of charities and, thus, they want the government to steal money from the taxpayers).
