I still think that having an educated population has to give us quite a few brownie points. Also, do you know how inter-depadant the US and Canada really are. I would suspect that hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars of goods go back and forth across the border

As its been stated above the goal for an invasion of Canada would be to seize the locations of resources. Mainly oil.
Feel free to go into the second largest country and hide in caves. Meanwhile the US controls the objectives.
And forgive me for childish remarks but LOL @ china and EU intervention. Have you ever looked at a map? It would take weeks to set up both sides to attack the US, and any attempt would be noticed and intercepted well in advance.
For one China and India have navies but assisting Europe on an attack is unlikely. I'll give in and assume they did, in which case their 20-30 or more year old soviet era technology is destroyed. Without a navy the worlds largest combined land army goes nowwhere.
As for the EU, even together they can't match the naval blockade the US could assemble. Nevermind the fact that certain cold war era networks like SOSUS still operate, allowing the US to track the movement of anything crossing the atlantic. The US would knew every move by the EU and be able to track and destroy anything they could assemble and send.
Add to that the desperate end of the world type senario. If world resources are vital to control, the US could nuke every canadian city and still have plenty to point at China-EU.
