I didn't want to post mid-research... but I've been doing some math and fluid dynamics to determine how high a 40 MPH tidal wave would be, how thick, etc.
Given the depth of the ocean at that point, you can even determine the size of meteor and speed of the meteor in order to displace that amount of water.
So far the numbers don't jive. Something that big would have gotten some attention.
