Well Iran and the United States have had something in common. Until 2005, the U.S. executed 16 and 17 year olds.

"Since 2000, only five countries have reportedly executed juvenile offenders: Congo, Iran, Pakistan, China and the United States. However, at present, all of these countries except the United States have now renounced the practice." [Source]
