| This is really rather ridiculous, I think. Considering this is history, and whatever was recorded is what was recorded. End of story. What good would changing it do for any one? It would be like trying to rewrite the timeline or biography of someone's life. Things like this make me wonder what ideas we will have about the past fifty years from now. When everything is twisted and misconstrued. "Revised" and "reworked" so that people are satisfied with what they see. Well, it doesn't really matter what you want to see if that is what truely happened in that point in history.
Also, what difference would it make even if Lincoln did support abortion, homosexuality and liberal causes? We rate every one of our past and our present presidents by their ability to lead our country. Everyone has a right to their own opinions of any of these presidents. Revising information about them doesn't help anyone and it doesn't change what had been.
