He is simply the first to bring it into the public light. There are older records, such as Aradia: Gospel of the Witches by Charles Leyland published pre 1900, and his works are claimed to be based upon on Italian witch he met.

You may notice that being a witch was only made legal in Britain in the 60's, so it wasn't something that many were open about, simply because of the treatment they would recieve, and still recieve today.

I don't deny that these are modern religions, but they are not simply new age movements.

I'm still interested in hearing about atheistic pagans.
