| Because its the harshest insult that can be thrown, and because they do exist (unlike dickheads and fuckwits) its kind of legitimised. It shouldn't be, but if someone who doesn't like you and, rightly or wrongly, gets a sniff of something that is connected to the Nazis, even if you mentioned building motorways I'm sure someone would take the oppurtunity, you can bet they'll throw 'you damned nazi' at you. Even if you stand on the opposite end of the spectrum entirely it'll come your way.
