| In theory, having the government legalize and then regulate prostitution would make it safer. But you would have to routinely do testing upon prostitutes to ensure that they had not contracted any diseases every week for such safety measures to be effective. Medical bills such as those would add up considerably for every individual prostitute. Could you imagine the health plans and the costs of workers compensation alone that would follow a practice such as that? The altogether costs and claims would be atranomical.
