It is my understanding (from a couple of agents I know) that the FBI will investigate certain vocal statements that they deem credible.

If someone said they were going to kill say, a local politician because he/she did ......, and this was reported, more than likely the local law enforcement agency and the FBI would show up.

Now if some said they were going to kill the president, vice-president, etc., and this was reported, they would have the FBI and the Secret Service at their front door.

In this day-and-age with the terrorist environment and threat we have to live with, things are going to be more sensative that normal.

So, I say, if the FBI has a credible reason to investigate - Yes.
