I imagine what we'll find is largely reviews describing a marathon torture flic as the work of a fanatic (his chemical addictions having been traded in for "religious" ones -- same addictive personality though) whose research on the topic didn't even extend to discovering that when the Jewish religious hierarchy put people to death it was by stoning.
