Oh man, Bacon, speaking of flaky!

"... the causus belli was the freedom of the Holy Places ... "

Ain't it always something silly like that?

"If you’re tempted to doubt this, I refer you to any number of mainstream Jewish publications, both liberal and orthodox, which over the past twelve months have sent forth a deluge of calumny and vilification against the attempts of a Christian filmmaker to produce a piece of art unapologetically faithful to the gospels."

Yes, I AM powerfully tempted to doubt it. So go ahead, refer us to them, specifically. I imagine what we'll find is largely reviews describing a marathon torture flic as the work of a fanatic (his chemical addictions having been traded in for "religious" ones -- same addictive personality though) whose research on the topic didn't even extend to discovering that when the Jewish religious hierarchy put people to death it was by stoning. The Romans were the ones who prefered crucifixion.

"... the fury of 'liberal', secular Jews demanding blacklisting and censorship ... "

Name us a few. The ones I read simply urged people not to waste their money, unless they're really into lashing bigtime.

"Your sentimental goodwill is being abused and exploited."

For someone so interested in US affairs, I'm surprised you haven't heard of the "Religious Right", the people who think they can hurry up the Second Coming by supporting the extremists running Israel at the moment.
