| I'm an agnostic, borderline-atheist. Why am I not a full blown atheist? While I personally feel that it is highly probable that atheism is correct, it is not testable by the scientific method for the same reason that religion is not. True atheism requires a certain level of faith that would make me, at a personal level, feel hypocritical.
I also don't feel any need to consistently condemn and disprove the world religions. Religion has led to a lot of good and I find that religion from an etic perspective to be an enjoyable study. I do, however, grow tired of ethnocentric religious doctrine, especially those hellbent on converting and conquering. |
