| I read the article. Sheldon Solomon is familiar with Ernest Becker's book, 'Flight from Death' which uncovers death as anxiety as a possible root cause of many of our behaviors on a psychological, spiritual, and cultural level.
Over the last 25 years a team of researchers has conducted over 300 laboratory studies, which substantiates Becker's claim that death anxiety is a primary motivator of human behavior, specifically aggression and violence.
This death anxiety is perhaps the main reason so many marched behind clowns like Bush and Cheney. Marched right off the cliff. |
