Praxius, go to the original picture -- the one I posted. It is a club with hooks. Compugasm took that pic and altered it to a hockey stick in his post. Now, what is inaccurate about that implement?
Ok, looking further above, even that picture is screwed and just goes to show how uneducated the rest of the world is about the Seal hunt...... frig you throw an idiot like Paul and his wife out there with all the baby seals for sympathy (Where it is illegal to hunt them in the first place, which shows that picture as flawed) ~ and everybody sucks up what the celebs say, even though they have no clue as to what's actually going on either......

#1 - They can not hunt seals beyond a certain age... ie: only adults.

#2 - If someone did, no one would take them because they would also be charged for being a part of the crime.

#3 - If that guy was really hunting seals, and in paticular the one in the picture..... don't you think buddy would have the spike pointing towards the seal, not the other way around?

#4 - Seal hunting is no different then what you'd have behind closed doors in a cattle slaughter house... the only difference is, this is out in the open and people can see what's going on. If you want to bitch about animal's suffering, how about you start there.

#5 - This is a nessicary proceedure, not only for supplying remote areas with a form of income and food for the year, but to keep the population in check, since due to humans already screwing things up and the enviroment being just as screwed, the Seal's natural preditors are few. Polar bears can not get to many of them now, due to lack of ice for travel.

#6 - In order to keep other industries a float, such as the fishery and other resources that most people around here depend on, it is nessicary, or they eat out everything like locusts. Keeping the population in check helps preserve the already fragile Cod and such.

#7 - They can be used for many purposes, like oils, food, clothing, etc. much like half the crap you're all wearing that was slaughtered from cattle, reptiles, and the sort.

Before you go on one of your Animal right's soap boxes, like in this case, it would be wise to read up on what you're trying to fight.... learn the pros and the cons, not just the cons.

Oh and I also find it funny that nobody gives a rats ass about the animals they eat and wear, but if it's got a cute face or can do some fancy trick, everybody has sympathy and want to protect them.

You guys gotta get your priorities straight and stop letting your emotions run your decisions.
