Horribly wasteful? It's called natural selection. If you can't survive on the things your were born with, and you take someone else's blood or organs, you're just cheating death.
I swear if someone takes my organs after I die, I'll haunt their ass until they die.
You're just prolonging over population against natural selection and those who should have died, don't.

If people are willing to donate their organs and blood and others will take it, then so be it, but don't start harvesting corpses without permission of the person being harvested...... that's sick and disrespectful.

But the soldier didn't request this, his parents did, after he died. He did not request it directly that he would want this done. He said he wanted a family eventually..... which to me means he wanted to be a part of that family, not be a donor to some other family he's never met before.
