They do. They just typically don't resort to violence in this day and age.
I remember when Dogma came out (a movie I did enjoy personally) a relatively large number of local catholics protested some of the more popular theaters. I don't think anything was firebombed... Granted the group we're referring to is still a minority but I think when discussing the extremes of two different sides (who are not all that different in the end) you have to compare the size and/or frequency of these same minorities.
In the world today when Jesus is depicted negatively the extreme minority might hold a reserved non-violent protest. When Mohamed is depicted negatively (or at all) places get firebombed and we see depictions worthy of the term "riot".
