To me, the issue of how to treat our children in the system is not so black and white. People aren't "treating children like adults", their giving them all the tough parts of being adult and none of the perks(no intellectual respect, others "talking on their level" without assuming simplicity or stupidity, etc).

I don't understand how you think children are being treated as adults, when in most classes/campuses it is believed students should be submissive.
