African-Americans are generally considered a less intelligent racial group by the American public. Let us define the terms of a racial group, shall we? The popular definition is that of skin color and facial characteristics. You see someone with black skin and immediately attach a moniker assuming that they act a certain way, and hold certain views. BUT WAIT, isn't that an ETHNIC group.
Okay, so a race is what exactly? Well, it turns out that modern science thinks "Since the 1940s, evolutionary scientists have rejected the view of race according to which any number of finite lists of essential characteristics could be used to determine a like number of races. For example, the convention of categorizing the human population based on human skin colors has been used, but hair colors, eye colors, nose sizes, lip sizes, and heights have not. Many evolutionary and social scientists think common race definitions, or any race definitions pertaining to humans, lack taxonomic rigour and validity. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race)" So, African-Americans is a stretch. After all, there are 30,000 genes in the human genome not to mention the possibility of genetic variation.
Wow, that sure puts the whole "blacks are dumb" argument right in the pooper because, who exactly is an African-American??? Oh, and by the way, you should sight your sources. Where exactly is this statistic coming from?
Now, about the high-school graduation rate. Perhaps if a certain ethnic group/culture that so many of these supposed "African-Americans" identify with would stop pushing social ideals such as: unprotected sex without regard for the consequences, hedonism, a hypocritcal faith, crime, and ninhilism, then we would see real intellectual progress. Because, excuse me, but I believe that when you are focused upon whether or not you are going to buy stupid things to impress your even stupider friends, it is hard to keep an eye on the ole GPA.
