we seem to be falling behind in all areas of science - except military technology...

the brits and asians are killing us on stem cell research - and when that research finally pays off, our drug companies won't stand a chance of surviving. all other developed countries are putting serious focus on alternative energies, including infrastructural investments in alternative energies (like the huge wind farms being constructed in china and europe).. china, south korea and taiwan all spend more per capita on nanotech r&d - and nanotech is seen as the key to the next revolution in computer processing. we're far behind in robotics research..

the two common themes here is that education in the u.s. is continuously outperformed by competitors in asia and europe.. the other one is that incentives for r&d vastly exceed those available in the u.s. (the same incentives that companies use when shipping manufacturing jobs overseas).

and the list goes on and on and on...

hope for america...
