| Al Qaeda is a US intelligence asset? Wouldn't this mean terrorists in that organization were presently covertly contributing valuable intelligence to the US? Suspected Al Qaeda operatives have yielded valuable intelligence, but not voluntarily, as 'assets'.
The fertilizer bomb comparison works for me, it is helpful in providing pedestrians with a reference; the Oklahoma City bombing took about a ton of explosive material, 3 times as much was found. By implication three times as many could be killed or a building three times the size demolished with that these suspected terrorists had.
