What you just say above is very intelligent and wise, its very hard to argue against this.
But beleive or not Protostar is more aligned with Darwins laws of natural selection than you are. Because according to Darwin, a mammels highest priority is to reproduce and remain in the gene pool. Enjoyment of your offspring would only offer a secondary consideration, raw survival is the primary agenda for all life on this planet.
