The main problem I see with stationing troops along the border is the issue of confrontation. Mexican troops are there as well. There are currently over 111,000 IRR (Individual Ready Reserve) so I don't see the 5600 beiing called up in July, along with another 10,000 or less for border patrol, straining the IRR numbers as some would imply. The border needs to be secured from illegal entry.
