The only way any of that could possibly make sense is if gods are just creations of human imagination. Once you realize that no gods ever really existed and that all gods are just creations of human imagination, then the world starts to make sense and all these mind-bending questions are answered.
Of course, it also makes you somewhat sad that so much misery is caused by and wasted on these fantasies. On the other hand, it frees you to move on and embrace life rather than waste so much time on meaningless questions that nobody can answer if they are coming from a mental frame that imaginary beings are real.
