Actually, I see your point and I have asked something very similar of the few Muslims (and anyone else who'll listen) on this forum and elsewhere. In reality, they wouldn't have to physically stop the fanatics. I would be happy if all the absolutely HIGHEST level of Muslim cleric, ayatollahs, Imams or whatever you call them got together and all loudly proclaimed for ALL to hear, "YOU FANATICS ARE NOT MEMBERS OF OUR FAITH AND YOU WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GET INTO HEAVEN AND YOU DON'T GET ANY VIRGINS OR ANYTHING ELSE. YOU KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE OR YOURSELVES AND YOU GO TO HELL, PERIOD! THE SMALL MEN LEADING YOU ARE FALSE LEADERS AND YOU SHOULD NOT LISTEN TO THEM BUT RETURN TO YOUT REAL FAITH.

If they did that I might think these animals ARE nasty little offshoots of a decent religion. Hell, I couldn't even get Abdulla to agree to that much. But I won't recognize this religion as anything other than a repressive tool of robed politicians until the "true" leaders of Islam take responsibility for their own religion and publicly denounce these bastards.
